The Detra is a Tatra T 12 (a Czech design) assembled in Germany under license. It was a creation of Hans Ledwinka that introduced new technologies: an air-cooled engine and a simplified chassis composed of a central tube and an independent suspension.
This car is very light, as it only weighs 1,500 lbs. It features a central tube backbone chassis, rear drive with 4 wheel independent suspension and braking. The Detra is a Tatra T 12 (a Czech design) assembled in Germany under license.
